This is the entrance of Takaosanguchi Station.
The walls of the station are made of wood, harmonizing with the nature of Mt. Takao.

There is a 7-Eleven convenience store at the station

It takes about fifty minutes to reach the top of Mt. Takao if you take cable car or lift,
so I recommend buying drinks at the convenience store in advance.

This is the station for cable car and lift.

It might be a good idea to buy a round-trip ticket, go by cable car, and return by lift.

The view from the cable car is great.

When you get on the lift, the scent of plants and the breeze make you feel very comfortable and relax.

After getting off the cable car, there are restaurants and souvenir shops.

This time, I ordered wild vegetable soba.

There is a Monkey Garden.

It is a gate called “Joshinmon”.
From here, it shows that it is the precincts of Yakuouin and is a sanctuary.

The steep stairway on the left is called ‘Otokozaka’which means Men’s Slope,
and the right is called ‘Onnazaka’ which means Woman’s slope with a gentle slope.

This is Hyakuhachidan Kaidan which means 108 steps.
It is said that there are 108 worldly desires which confuse people’s way of life.
It is said that there are three types of worldly desires: greed, anger, and foolishness.

There is a Japanese tea shop that sells dumplings, ramen, soba, ice cream etc.
Many people take a break at this place

This is the gate called “Sanmon” which means Mountain gate.
There are four major guardian deities at the gate

Mt. Takao is known as a sacred mountain for Tengu worship.
The tengu is said to be a messenger of the enshrined deity, possessing great power
to immediately fly away and remove misfortune when a misfortune occurs to a worshiper.
It is said to have the power to eliminate disasters and bring good luck.

It is said that if you pass through this circle, your wish will come true.
